MORE ON LIVING CONSCIOUSLY...

I wanted to continue the conversation from last week about living consciously vs. sleep walking through life and I came across a few ideas this weekend that I wanted to share with you.

In Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific, Bloody Mary states "You've got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?"

In "The Unconscious Conspiracy: Why Leaders Can't Lead" by Warren Bennis, the author suggests that the reason leaders can't lead is that they are "consumed by the routine".  They are so caught up in the dailiness and so caught up in the stuff that comes across their desks that they don't have the time or energy to think about the vision and where they are going.

Does this sound familiar to you? Are you caught up in the dailiness of life? Bloody Mary had it right - you've got to have a dream.  But many people confuse a dream with a vision.  They dream and dream but don't have a vision.

So what separates the two? In simple terms, as I see it, a dream is just a dream, but a vision is a dream with an action plan.  Is it really that hard to take a dream and put some plans around it? Not really. Your vision doesn't have to be something like taking over the world.  But if you want something and continuously work towards achieving it, you will certainly be way far ahead of those that just dream and wish and don't do anything about it.

So, do you dream?  Can you take that dream and make it into a vision and a plan? Need help? The coaches as Better U Coaching are trained to help you take that dream and make it a vision.  Better U started out as a dream and it continues to be a vision to improve the lives of those we help. Let us help you turn your dream into something more.  Call us today.
